As a travel nurse, you need support and advocacy. Many times, you’re traveling to the unknown, and that can be a scary experience if you feel unsafe. At Vero, our priority is to ensure the safety of our travelers. We have a team of experienced nurses who operate our business, manage all compliance & quality processes, and are liaisons for you. Read our latest interview with Pam Harden, Director of Quality & Clinical Operations to learn more about our team.
Q. What’s your role within Vero?
My role is Quality and Compliance. That means I inspect the documents you submit to be sure they are compliant with both Vero and your intended hospital assignment. This is something that will also save your license because I ensure they are met with industry standards. If something is expired I cannot accept, on the other hand, I realize how busy you are so I keep tabs on the items that may expire and alert you in plenty of time to renew.
Q. How has your background prepared you for this role?
I have been in Healthcare management for the last 12 years adhering to TJC, CHAP and company guidelines
Q. Why is it important for you to help/advocate for your nurses?
It is always a manager’s role to advocate for their nurses. Nurses work hard for their license and I want to assure the keep them in good standing
Q. What’s the benefit of a nurse working with Vero?
Vero hires professionals who understand not only the Travel Industry. Also, those who are in lead roles are nurses who value the Traveler and appreciate their efforts in all they do.
Q. As an experienced nurse, what advice would you offer a first-time travel nurse, or someone seeking a new travel nursing agency?
I would suggest a new travel nurse stay in the states until they fully engage the travel experience. However, if a nurse is looking for the best experience in traveling, Vero’s caring staff make the transition as easy as possible. We want them to enjoy the travel and return to us again and again and encourage their colleagues to join us!
Q. Vero turned 4 this year! Where do you see Vero in the next 4 years?
I can’t see anything but success for Vero. Working here has been a wonderful experience and we like to pay that experience forward to our Travelers. Certainly, we are not perfect, but everyone here gives more than 100% for the company, but more importantly our Travelers to succeed and grow.
Q. When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I love spending time with my friends going to Wine Tastings, I enjoy reading everything from psycho thrillers to biographies and most importantly spending time with my grandchildren.
Q. What’s your favorite place to travel and why?
I haven’t been to Europe yet but Italy is definitely on my bucket list. Domestically though it would be a tossup between San Francisco and New York. The weather is beautiful in San Francisco and I think the sunset going down over the Pacific ocean is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. Manhattan, New York has so much history and culture to enjoy that I could move there in a heartbeat and just take it all in one day at a time. The people are very friendly and helpful when you get lost and ask for directions; their reply is “it’s just up the street or around the corner”. And it’s true and comical because I had this HUGE place in my head until I realized how compact it all is!
